The forecast said Wednesday looked the best day of the week for some good weather so I dusted the cobwebs of the glider and got up the hill.
I hadn't flown since August/Sept 04 so it was good to get back in the air. There were around 8 other paraglders there all scratching the hill and trynna make the most of the poor conditions. When I was riggin up, 1 guy caught a powerful spring thermal and suffered a deflation which scared th crapout of him. Lucky for him, he had altitude and his canopy fully recovered.
As soon as I was ready for take off. Conditions were really iffy and there was hardly a breeze, worse still - the wind swung round to the South east which wasn't ideal.
I launched and flew straight out of the hill in vain of finding a thermal and caught something but it was only a 3 up and a real tight core so I tryed to crank the glider into it for a good 5 minutes but eventually gave up as I was by the landing field.
The landing was a bit tricky as I tried to get into the top Eastrly landing field which didn't happen so ended up in the bottom landing field scratching the surface all the way down.
Only a 10 minute flight but good to get some airtime once again. Feels like springs arrived so roll on 2006!!
